“Safe Space” is a patchworking of audio and visual fragments, drenched in liminality in the hope to explore how queerness can inhabit or mis-inhabit time. The work jumps between the two most important safe spaces to me as a queer person- my bedroom, and the first queer bar I ever went to. The two safe spaces start to dissolve and merge into each other, framing the last minute in potentiality. Suddenly the audience is expelled from this constructed universe and brought back to the ‘present’ in a contented full stop.
